'The Devil Wears Prada' to open at the Dominion Theatre in 2024
Featuring an original score by Elton John, the musical adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada is set to open in London next year, following a preview run at Theatre Royal Plymouth.
Following a developmental run in Chicago last summer, The Devil Wears Prada will open in the West End in October 2024. The London premiere of this new musical will play at the Dominion Theatre.
The award-winning creative team will feature a score by Elton John, with new direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell, lyrics by singer-songwriter Shaina Taub, book by Kate Wetherhead, set design by Tim Hatley, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Bruno Poet, and sound design by Gareth Owen.
Based on the popular 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberger and the subsequent Academy Award-nominated 2006 film adaptation starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, The Devil Wears Prada is about discovering your purpose and finding out what truly matters.
When Andy Sachs lands a job in the glamorous, high-stakes world of fashion journalism, she quickly discovers that working for New York Runway Editor-in-Chief Miranda Priestly is far from a walk in the park.
Prior to opening at the Dominion Theatre, the show will have a limited engagement at the Theatre Royal Plymouth in July 2024.
