Sheila Gish, dies of cancer at the age of 62

Sheila Gish died of cancer on Wednesday 9 March 2005 at the age of 62.

She was afflicted by a cancerous tumour and lost her right eye in an operation to remove it in 2003, but still continued to work with an eye patch.

Her London stage credits included: "Company" at the Donmar Warehouse in 1995 and Albery in 1996; "Playhouse Creatures" at the Old Vic in 1997; "Suddenly Last Summer" at the Comedy Theatre in 1999; "Finding the Sun" & "Marriage Play" at the Cottesloe, NT in 2001.
