Oedipus and Player Kings director Robert Icke will bring his new drama about the murderer Raoul Moat to the Royal Court next year, as part of artistic director David Byrne's second season at the London venue.

The first show in the season will be The Legends of Them by Sutara Gayle, also known as award-winning reggae artist Lorna Gee. The play chronicles her family history, from a silent retreat in India to the Brixton uprising, with original music and runs from 5-21 December.

The world premiere of A Good House by Amy Jephta runs from 11 January - 8 February 2025, and is a biting satire about neighbourhood politics. This is followed by Lauren Mooney and James Yeatman's More Life from 6 February - 8 March, a sci-fi gothic horror about the impact of technology on human existence.

A Knock on the Roof by Khawla Ibraheem runs from 21 February to 8 March and follows Mariam, a woman in Gaza who is preparing for war. The world premiere of Icke's Manhunt will run from 28 March to 3 May, while Scenes from a Repatriation by Joel Tan about the stolen Boddhisattva Guan Yin that lives in The British Museum opens 25 April until 24 May.

Closing the season is Sarah Kane’s final masterpiece 4.48 Psychosis, starring the entire original cast and creative team. The show runs from 12 June to 5 July and brings the audience into the mind of its unnamed protagonist who suffers with severe depression.

David Byrne said, “Across the past nine months we’ve been bringing together the best writers, collaborations and stories to thrill audiences at the Court - and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Every show in this season delivers on the Royal Court promise of a combustible night at the theatre.

"From reggae royalty to Robert Icke, from glimpses of the far future to echoes from the recent past, from international playwrights to the best UK theatre makers - every show in this line-up is an unmissable theatrical event. The writers at the Royal Court have got something to say, and this season you’re not going to want to miss a single word.”
