Rachel Tucker and Trevor Dion Nicholas join the cast of 'Hadestown' in London

Trevor Dion Nicholas recently starred in Next to Normal in the West End, while Rachel Tucker is known for her performances in Sunset Boulevard, Wicked, and Come From Away.

New lead casting has been announced for Hadestown in the West End, as the production extends its booking period through 28 September 2025.

Trevor Dion Nicholas, who recently starred in Next to Normal in the West End, will play Hades, while Rachel Tucker (Sunset Boulevard, Wicked, Come From Away) will play Persephone. They will appear in the production until 9 February 2025.

They join Madeline Charlemagne as Eurydice, Melanie La Barrie as Hermes, and Dylan Wood as Orpheus, with Bella Brown, Allie Daniel, and Francessca Daniella-Baker as the Fates. 

The Swings include Lauren Azania, Tiago Dhondt Bamberger, Beth Hinton-Lever, Waylon Jacobs, and Christopher Short continue to play the Workers, with Lucinda Buckley, Winny Herbert, Ryesha Higgs, Miriam Nyarko, and Simon Oskarsson.

The Tony Award-winning musical, which was first seen in London at the National Theatre in 2018, follows the two intertwined love stories of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and his wife Persephone.

The innovative retelling of the ancient Greek myth features music, lyrics, and book by Grammy Award winner Anaïs Mitchell, with direction by Tony Award winner Rachel Chavkin (Mission Drift, American Clock). The rest of the creative team includes David Neumann (choreography), Rachel Hauck (scenic design), Michael Krass (costume design), Bradley King (lighting design), Nevin Steinberg and Jessica Paz (sound design), Liam Robinson (music supervision and vocal arrangements), Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose (arrangements and orchestrations), Ken Cerniglia (dramaturgy), and Tarek Merchant (musical director).
