Myles Frost to star in Broadway musical ‘MJ’ in the West End in 2024
MJ the Musical will see Tony Award winner Frost reviving his role as the legendary pop icon, Michael Jackson, in March.
Direct from Broadway, Myles Frost will make his West End debut in MJ the Musical when it hits the West End stage next year.
Frost, the show’s original lead actor, will portray the late King of Pop and bring Michael Jackson’s unique story to life. He won the 2022 Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for playing Jackson on Broadway, making him the youngest individual actor to ever win the award.
“I’m super excited to bring this show to the West End and to make this a magical experience for everybody,” Myles Frost said in a statement.
MJ centres on the turbulent story behind the making of Michael Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous World Tour, and it revisits highlights from throughout Jackson’s singular career. The show features all his greatest hit songs, including “Thriller,” “Man in the Mirror,” “Beat It,” and “Billie Jean.”
An internationally renowned creative team will join Frost, including two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Lynn Nottage and two-time Tony Award-winning director/choreographer Christopher Wheeldon. The scenic design by Derek McLane lighting design by Natasha Katz, costume design by Paul Tazewell, sound design by Gareth Owen, projection design by Peter Nigrini, and hair and wig design by Charles LaPointe. Musical supervision is by David Holcenberg, and the orchestrations and arrangements are by David Holcenberg and Jason Michael Webb.
Further casting for the London production of MJ is yet to be confirmed. The Tony Award-winning musical will begin performances on 7 March 2024 at London’s Prince Edward Theatre.
