Based on the 1993 film, Mrs. Doubtfire tells the story of Daniel Hillard, a newly divorced father desperate to spend more time with his children. When his ex-wife posts a hiring notice for a nanny, he disguises himself as one in order to see his kids, and as Doubtfire, he learns to become a better dad.
The musical has run at the Shaftesbury Theatre since May 2023 to critical acclaim. London Theatre's five-star Mrs. Doubtfire review reads, "It’s surprisingly inventive, refashioning the original just enough to make it thoroughly theatrical and a smart 21st-century show."
The cast features Gabriel Vick as Daniel Hillard/Mrs. Doubtfire, Laura Tebbutt as Miranda Hillard, Carla Dixon-Hernandez as Lydia Hillard, Cameron Blakely as Frank Hillard, Marcus Collins as Andre, Samuel Edwards as Stuart Dunmire, Ian Talbot as Mr. Jolly, and Kelly Agbowu as Wanda Sellner. Max Bispham, Elliot Mugume, and Frankie Treadaway alternate as Christopher Hillard, and Scarlett Davies, Angelica-Pearl Scott, and Ava Posniak alternate as Natalie Hillard.
