Mawaan Rizwan joins 'The Rocky Horror Show' West End cast
The BAFTA-winning comedian will perform in the two-week engagement of the cult classic horror comedy musical at the Dominion Theatre this September.
He's joining the science fiction double feature! Mawaan Rizwan has joined the cast of The Rocky Horror Show in the West End, playing from 6-20 September at the Dominion Theatre.
Rizwan is a actor, writer and comedian best known for his BAFTA-winning comedy series Juice, which he starred in, wrote, and co-produced. His other screen credits include performing on Definitely Not Newsround, Two Weeks to Live, and Murdered By My Father and writing on Sex Education.
“Rocky Horror was such a formative show for me as a performer, so I’m very excited and honoured to be a part of bringing it back," Rizwan said in a statement. "I can’t wait for audiences to experience this joyously anarchic classic once again!”
He will play the Narrator and joins a cast that also includes Jason Donovan as Dr Frank 'n' Furter, Connor Carson as Brad, Lauren Chia as Janet, Job Greuter as Riff Raff, Natasha Hoeberigs as Magenta/Usherette, Jayme-Lee Zanoncelli as Columbia, Morgan Jackson as Rocky, and Edward Bullingham as Eddie/Dr Scott.
In The Rocky Horror Show, fiancés Brad and Janet's car breaks down at the castle of Dr Frank 'n' Furter, who invites them on an eccentric adventure they won't forget.
