Jamaal Fields-Green to play lead in 'MJ the Musical' in the West End
Jamaal Fields-Green has already performed the role on Broadway and on the US national tour, as well as in the West End earlier this year. He replaces Myles Frost.
MJ the Musical has announced a new performer will take over the role of MJ in the West End production, as the booking period is extended through 13 September 2025.
Jamaal Fields-Green, who has already performed the role on Broadway, on the US national tour, and in the West End, replaces Myles Frost, with performances beginning on 14 January 2025.
Fields-Green said: “I’m deeply humbled and honoured to have the opportunity to perform in this show and role here in London. Ever since I made my debut in the West End earlier this year, something in the city has been calling me back.
"London - I’m excited to share my artistry and make some magic with you in this beautiful city. I hope to see you at the theatre, I promise you’re not going to want to miss it. Let’s party!”

Fields-Green is joined by Ashley Zhangazha as Joseph Jackson / Rob, Mitchell Zhangazha as Michael, Philippa Stefani as Rachel, Phebe Edwards as Katherine Jackson / Kate, Matt Mills as Berry Gordy / Nick, Rohan Pinnock-Hamilton as Tito Jackson / Quincy Jones, Matt Gonsalves as Alejandro, Jon Tsouras as Dave, Kieran Alleyne as MJ Alternate and Standby for Michael, Kwamé Kandekore as Standby for MJ and Standby for Michael, and André Phipps as Standby for MJ and Standby for Michael.
The full cast includes Derek Aidoo, Morgan Baulch, Milan Cacacie, Tevin Daniel, Spencer Darlaston-Jones, Hanna Dimtsu, Aden Dzuda, Marie Finlayson, Christopher Gopaul, Kalisha Johnson, Grace Kanyamibwa, Travis Kerry, Dianté Lodge, Simeon Montague, George Ross, Lydia Sterling, Toyan Thomas-Browne, Taylor Walker, Charlotte-Kate Warren, and Tavio Wright.
Ari Adebiyi, Cristiano Cuino, Jaydon Eastman, and Joel Molin play Little Michael, while Khanya Madaka, Kristiano Ricardo, Ashton Robertson, and Asher Swaray-Gray star as Little Marlon.
Focused on the development of MJ's 1992 Dangerous World Tour, the Tony Award-winning musical looks at how Jackson shot to stardom, and includes hit songs such as "Billie Jean", "Beat It", "Man in the Mirror", "Thriller", and "Smooth Criminal".
The creative team includes writer Lynn Nottage, director and choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, set designer Derek McLane, lighting designer Natasha Katz, costume designer Paul Tazewell, sound designer Gareth Owen, projection designer Peter Nigrini, wig and hair designer Charles LaPointe, and musical supervisor David Holcenberg, while orchestrations and arrangements are by David Holcenberg and Jason Michael Webb (The Color Purple).
