Full casting announced for 'MJ the Musical'
The Michael Jackson musical, which focuses on the making of his 1992 Dangerous World Tour, will be led by Myles Frost, who originated the role on Broadway.
It’s going to be a thriller! The full cast has been revealed for MJ the Musical in the West End, which opens at the Prince Edward Theatre on 6 March.
As previously confirmed, Myles Frost, who originated the role of Michael Jackson on Broadway, will bring his performance to the West End.
He will be joined by Ashley Zhangazha as Joseph Jackson/Rob, Mitchell Zhangazha as Michael, Philippa Stefani as Rachel, Phebe Edwards as Katherine Jackson/Kate, Matt Mills as Berry Gordy/Nick, Rohan Pinnock-Hamilton as Tito Jackson/Quincy Jones, Matt Gonsalves as Alejandro, Jon Tsouras as Dave, Kieran Alleyne as MJ Alternate and Standby for Michael, and Kwamé Kandekore Standby for MJ and Michael.
The full cast will include Derek Aidoo, Morgan Baulch, Milan Cacacie, Spencer Darlaston-Jones, Hanna Dimtsu, Aden Dzuda, Marie Finlayson, Christopher Gopaul, Kalisha Johnson, Grace Kanyamibwa, Travis Kerry, Dianté Lodge, Simeon Montague, George Ross, Lydia Sterling, Toyan Thomas-Browne, Taylor Walker, Charlotte-Kate Warren, and Tavio Wright.
The musical will also introduce Jaydon Eastman, Elliot Mugume, Ethan Sokontwe, and Dylan Trigger as Little Michael, and Cristiano Cuino, Sekhani Dumezweni, Khanya Madaka, and Aidan Oti as Little Marlon.
Lynn Nottage’s musical is focused on the making of Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous World Tour, offering a new insight into the creative mind and collaborative spirit that catapulted Jackson to fame.
The creative team includes Christopher Wheeldon (director and choreographer), Derek McLane (set designer), Natasha Katz (lighting designer), Paul Tazewell (costume designer), Gareth Owen (sound designer), Peter Nigrini (projection designer), Charles LaPointe (hair and wig design), David Holcenberg (musical supervision), and David Holcenberg and Jason Michael Webb (orchestrations and arrangements).
