Nobody puts baby in the corner! First-look artist impressions have been released of new west-London venue Capital Theatre, which will open with a production of Dirty Dancing in October 2025.

Housed within Westfield London in Shepherd’s Bush, the permanent new theatre venue will hold 620 seats, set over 35,000 square feet, with no customer more than nine rows from the performance stage area.

The auditorium has been designed and built by the architect and design team behind The Bridge Theatre, @sohoplace, The Young Vic and the recent transformation of the Playhouse Theatre into the Kit Kat Club.

Capital Theatre will include a foyer café serving food and drink throughout the day, as well as an onsite box office and merchandise store open seven days a week.

The venue's first show, Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story on Stage, written by Eleanor Bergstein, will be a fully staged new production, featuring a cast, band, and company of over 40 performers. It is based on the 1987 film starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, set during the summer of 1963 when Baby first meets dance instructor Johnny Castle and quickly becomes drawn into his world.
