Cast confirmed for Vernon God Little at the Young Vic

Casting has been confirmed for Vernon God Little, by DBC Pierre, adapted by Tanya Ronder, which opens at the Young Vic Theatre 8 May 2007, following previews from 27 April - running to 9 June 2007

Colin Morgan will make his professional theatre debut in the lead role of Vernon. He is currently studying at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and says: "I'm absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to work and perform at the Young Vic. Still being at Drama School it's really exciting to move to a new city and start my first professional acting job. I can't wait to begin rehearsals for this challenging and exciting new show"

The cast also includes Lorraine Bruce, Andrew Clark, Mariah Gale, Mark Lockyer, Nathan Osgood, Joanna Scanlan and Ray Shell.

It is directed by Rufus Norris, designed by Ian MacNeil, lighting by Paule Constable, sound by Paul Arditti. It is produced by Young Vic & A Cuba Picture.

About a teenage misfit from Texas who goes on the run after witnessing a Columbine-style massacre at his school. It's Friday at the Sheriff's office. Vernon sits in his underpants, starring at his Nike's. His best friend Jesus went and killed all their classmates, then himself. Normal times just ran howling from town.
