About Speed

Mohamed-Zain Dada and director Milli Bhatia are reunited for the world premiere of Speed at Bush Theatre. The duo previously collaborated on the Olivier-award-nominated collaboration Blue Mist. Book Speed tickets on London Theatre.

Speed is a play that transports audiences to an average hotel basement for an experience that changes the characters' lives forever. It all begins when a nurse, a delivery driver, and an entrepreneur enter a speed awareness course facilitated by the nationally renowned, Abz. What was expected to be a normal course becomes something akin to a group therapy session as annoyances, secrets, and anger are revealed.

This comical and touching story stars Nikesh Patel (Amazon's The Devil's Hour, BBC/HBO's Starstruck) as Abz, Sabrina Sandhu (Everybody's Talking About Jamie, BBC's The Syndicate) as Harleen, Arian Nik (Blue Mist, BBC's Daddy Issues) as Samir, and Shazia Nicholls (The Merry Wives of Windsor, Paradise Now!) as Faiza.

Speed in London has an excellent creative team, including director Milli Bhatia, who has been nominated for two Olivier Awards for seven methods of killing kylie jenner and Blue Mist. In addition to reuniting Bhatia and Dada from Blue Mist, Speed reunites actor Arian Nik and set and costume designer Tomás Palmer were also part of that production.

Bhatia's work has been highly reviewed by critics, including her recent direction of King Troll (The Fawn) at the New Diorama Theatre. Love London Culture said, "Milli Bhatia's production is chilling, yet filled with emotion – the compassion that shines through in a variety of ways catches the audience in many ways off guard."

The talented creative team includes costume supervisor Beth Qualter Buncall (Canned Goods, Kim's Convenience), lighting designer Jessica Hung Han Yun (My Neighbour Totoro, Lyonesse), fight director Bret Yount (Oliver!, Twelfth Night), set and costume designer Tomás Palmer (Blue Mist, The Bacchae), and designer XANA (Imposter 22, Anna Karenina).
