In the world premiere of Lavender, Hyacinth, Violet, Yew at Bush Theatre, audiences are transported into the garden alongside 19-year-old Pip, who is seeking to find themselves. Book Lavender, Hyacinth, Violet, Yew tickets on London Theatre.

Lavender, Hyacinth, Violet, Yew in London stars BAFTA and Olivier Award nominee Omari Douglas (It’s a Sin, Constellations), Pooky Quesnel (BBC’s The A Word), Wil Johnson (The Merry Wives of Windsor), and Coral Wylie (ANTHEM).

In addition to starring in the show Coral Wylie is the show’s writer. Their 2022 show ANTHEM was played on the Bush Theatre main stage. They’ve also earned numerous accolades including being shortlisted for The Alfred Fagon Award in 2023 for Lavender, Hyacinth, Violet, Yew.

Together the talented cast tells the funny and beautifully queer story of 19-year-old Pip, who discovers a dusty 80s-style jacket in the attic. In the pocket, they discover the diary of someone who has passed, and they are determined to uncover the truth of the past. This poignant tale explores grief and how it’s expressed and how queer histories are carried on.

“I wrote this play for a society that doesn’t let us grieve how we need to, that keeps us closed and locked up, for the generation we still ache for the loss of, and for the generation that is trying with all their might to know those lives cut short,” Wylie said.

Lavender, Hyacinth, Violet, Yew is a play with an expert creative team including director Debbie Hannan (Overflow), lighting designer Laura Howard (The Kola Nut Does Not Speak English), casting director Jatinder Chera (The P Word), and company stage manager Rebecca Natalini (The Real Ones).
