The world premiere of Amy Jephta's satirical comedy, A Good House, comes to the Royal Court. Book A Good House tickets on London Theatre.
A Good House is a play set in a gated community. The show tells the story of a mysterious shack that appears and causes endless speculation among the neighbours, especially when the shack's inhabitants are nowhere to be seen. Through satire, the play explores community politics and the limits of good neighbourliness.
The talented cast includes Kai Luke Brummer (Moffie), Olivia Darnley (Ugly Lies the Bone), Mimi M Khayisa (The Witcher), Sifiso Mazibuko (Ain't Too Proud), Robyn Rainsford (Tali's Joburg Diary), and Scott Sparrow (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time).
A Good House also has a talented creative team led by director Nancy Medina, whose direction of Choir Boy earned the Best Director award at the 2024 The Black British Theatre Awards.
Royal Court Artistic Director David Byrne said, "The chance to work with Nancy and her world-class team at Bristol Old Vic to bring Amy Jephta's astonishing play to audiences is, therefore, quite literally a dream come true."
The creative team behind A Good House also includes design by ULTZ (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom), lighting design by Chris Davey (Richard III), costume supervision by Lucy Walshaw (A Kind of People), and the casting director is Arthur Carrington (Dr Strangelove).
This exciting production of A Good House will be Bristol Old Vic's and the Royal Court Theatre's first co-production in 30 years.
As Medina said, "As Bristol Old Vic refocuses on developing and supporting new writing for our region, to be able to partner with the Royal Court – a theatre synonymous with excellence in new writing – is particularly special."
