At first glance, VIVA is a flamenco drag show but there is so much more behind the dresses, fans and makeup.
Award-winning flamenco choreographer and dancer, Manuel Liñán dreamed of wearing the costumes of his female idols as a child. Now alongside his company, Manuel treats us to the rhythms of alegrías, tárantos and bulerías, dances full of exciting, rhythmic footwork, curving arms, and slaps to the thighs – all in full feminine glory.
Manuel Liñán combines all of the greatest elements of flamenco with his own creative and comedic queer expression. This is flamenco as you’ve never seen it – subversive, unique and liberated.
