The Producers is a musical based on the 1967 cult classic film of the same name. The comedy tells the story of two theatre producers who devise a scheme to get rich quickly by overselling interests in a Broadway show destined to fail. However, their scheme is complicated when the show becomes a hit. This smash hit is filled with hilarious moments, outrageous characters, and hit musical numbers, including I Wanna Be a Producer, Keep it Gay, and The King of Broadway.
Since its 2001 Broadway premiere, The Producers has been a hit. The musical ran on Broadway from 2001-2007 for 2,502 performances and earned a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards. In 2004, The Producers came to the West End, running through 2007 for 920 performances and earning three Olivier Awards. The musical was also adapted into a musical film in 2005.
The expert cast of this revival includes Andy Nyman (Hello, Dolly!), Marc Antolin (I Wish You Well), Harry Morrison (Assassins), Joanna Woodward (Merrily We Roll Along), Trevor Ashley (Liza (on and E), Liza’s Back! (is broken)), and Raj Ghatak (Life of Pi). The ensemble is completed by Jermaine Woods, Nolan Edwards, Charis Alexandra, Michael Franks, Matt Gillett, Leah Harris, Hana Ichijo, Esme Kennedy, Josh Kiernan, Alex Lodge, Kelsie-Rae Marshall, and Chloe Saunders.
The Producers in London also has a talented creative team, including Tony Award-winning director Patrick Marber (Leopoldstadt), choreographer Lorin Latarro (Once Upon a Mattress), set designer Scott Pask (Gutenberg!
