About The Forsyte Saga Part 2: Fleur

★★★★★ ‘Sumptuous, panoramic, intense, amusing… a masterpiece.’ The Times

John Galsworthy’s Nobel Prize-winning tale, The Forsyte Saga, comes to London in an exciting new two-part stage adaptation. Book Forsyte Saga Part 2: Fleur tickets on London Theatre.

Forsyte Saga Part 2: Fleur is a play that centres on Fleur, the child of Soames Forstye, who, alongside his wife Irene, was the focus of the first play. Years after the scandal that unfolded between Soames and Irene, Fleur is determined to untangle what happened to cause the family to fracture. However, she soon finds herself linked to the past scandal, which leads to an unexpected conclusion. The two plays will be staged on alternating nights, and on matinee days, the shows will have consecutive runs.

Forsyte Saga Part 2: Fleur in London stars Flora Spencer-Longhurst (Amelie) as Fleur Forsyte, Joseph Millson (Noises Off) as Soames Forsyte and Fiona Hampton (Touching the Void) as Irene Forsyte. Rounding out the talented cast of this stylish period production are Michael Lumsden (The Archers), Florence Roberts (BU21), Jamie Wilkes (His Dark Materials), Emma Amos (The Stand Up Sketch Show), Andy Rush (Casualty), and Nigel Hastings (And Then Come the Night Jars).

The play is adapted by Shaun McKenna and Lin Coghlan, who are no strangers to the story of The Forstye Saga; they wrote the seven-part series, The Forstyes, in 2016 for BBC Radio 4. This is far from the only adaptation that these novels have had—in 1967, it was televised by the BBC, and in 2002, it was once again serialized by ITV. However, this series of two plays is the first stage adaptation of the novels.

This show has an excellent creative team, including director Josh Roche (Orlando), movement director Patrice Bowler (Macbeth), lighting designer Alex Musgrave (Tasting Notes), set and costume designer Anna Yates (Glee & Me), and sound designer and composer Max Pappenheim (Blackout Songs).
