2:22 A Ghost Story was Robin’s first-ever play and has been an instant theatre sensation. In 2022, 2:22 A Ghost Story was nominated for three Olivier Awards and won three WhatsOnStage Awards, including Best New Play. The show has had five record-breaking seasons at the Noël Coward, Gielgud, Criterion, The Lyric Theatre, and The Apollo Theatre, and now it returns to the Gielgud.
2:22 A Ghost Story in London transports audiences into an eerie story in which a woman believes the home she and her husband recently purchased is haunted when she hears unexplainable happenings every night at 2:22 a.m. When the couple hosts a dinner party, the group stays until 2:22 a.m. to see if anything happens.
“I wanted to create this thing that felt like an event,” Robins explains, “like a big night out (where you) laugh, jump out your seats, scream, accidentally spill your drink on your mate – and then go off talking about it into the night.”
This revival of 2:22 A Ghost Story boasts an accomplished cast, including Donna Air (The Split) as Lauren, BAFTA Award nominee James Buckley (The Inbetweeners) as Ben, Joe McFadden (Holby City) as Sam, and Stacey Dooley (TV presenter) as Jenny.
The show also has an exceptional creative team, including directors Matthew Dunster (The Seagull, A Very Very Very Dark Matter) and Isabel Marr (John Gabriel Borkman). The sound design by Ian Dickinson (Company, Hangmen, Uncle Vanya) is instrumental in setting the eerie and sinister tone of this supernatural play.
