See Sherlock writer Steven Moffat’s debut play The Unfriend in London. The Unfriend tickets are available on London Theatre now.
What would you do if a friend you made on holiday turned out to have a dark secret? That’s the sticky situation that Peter and Debbie find themselves in when they land.
While the pair were on holiday, they met Elsa, an American with strong Republican views. A few months later, Elsa invites herself to stay at Peter and Debbie’s house — without any prior warning — to put her undercover plans in motion. But who is Elsa?
Once Peter and Debbie look up Elsa Jean Krakowski's real identity online, they realise her true colours. The Unfriend explores what happens when you’re trying to protect yourself, all with a polite smile on your face.
Even though The Unfriend marks Steven Moffat’s debut play, he’s got an excellent track record for creating beloved stories. Moffat’s worked on over 40 episodes of Doctor Who starring David Tennant and Matt Smith, as well as Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. Moffat is joined by regular collaborator Mark Gatiss as director, and fellow The League of Gentleman star Reece Shearsmith appears in the show.
BAFTA Award-winning comedian Lee Mack (Not Going Out, Would I Lie To You?) and Sarah Alexander (Coupling, Smack The Pony) join Frances Barber (Silk, Doctor Who) as she reprises her force of nature performance in this smash hit comedy.
