The Bridge Theatre presents the European premiere of White Noise, a powerful, disturbing and essential new work by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks. White Noise tickets are available on London Theatre now.
Leo, Dawn, Misha and Ralph have been close since college. Leo is a visual artist who might find more success if he could ever sleep. His girlfriend Dawn is a lawyer and social justice advocate. Misha hosts an online show called "Ask A Black." Her boyfriend Ralph is close to getting tenure. Everything changes for these four friends when Leo is assaulted by a police officer and, still traumatised in the aftermath, approaches Ralph with an extreme proposal.
Suzan-Lori Parks is a widely celebrated playwright. Parks won the Pulitzer Prize for her play Topdog/Underdog, becoming the first African-American woman to receive the prestigious prize. Her other works include Father Comes Home From the Wars, In the Blood, and the book of the 2011 musical adaptation of Porgy and Bess. The Bridge Theatre now hosts the White Noise London bow of her latest acclaimed play.
White Noise is a shocking and trenchant new drama which probes our most comfortably held beliefs around race, activism and social justice. The New York Times dubbed the White Noise play "enthrallingly thought-packed" in a rave review. In a review from New York Theatre Guide, Kathleen Campion declared that "you sit in the dark in awe of Ms. Parks". MacArthur "Genius" Grant recipient Parks returns to London with a new play that simply demands to be seen.
