The Tempest is a play of magic, revenge, and forgiveness that begins with a shipwreck. The ship's inhabitants include Alonso, the King of Naples, and Antonio, the Duke of Milan. Everyone survives the wreckage and ends up on a remote island where the wizard Prospero lives with his daughter. Prospero used to be the Duke of Milan until Antonio took the position, and with the shipwreck, Prospero sees a chance for revenge.
