Born in Cleveland in 1979, Jamie Parker moved to Darlington with his family at a young age. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 2002, he started his London theatre career playing the original role of Scripps in The History Boys, written by Alan Bennett, alongside James Corden and Dominic Cooper. Although the play was an original London stage production at the National Theatre, the role took Parker to Broadway, Sydney, Wellington and Hong Kong playing the piano, singing and acting in the multi-award winning play.

Following The History Boys, he starred in The Revenger’s Tragedy, Proof and Assassins. In 2015, he starred in High Society at the Old Vic, and was later in Guys and Dolls at the Savoy Theatre as Sky Masterson. Parker is no stranger to plays, having been in A New World: A Life of Thomas Paine and Henry IV, Part One and Henry IV, Part Two at Shakespeare's Globe.

Outside of the theatre, Parker has acted in various television shows including Endeavour, Silent Witness and the historical thriller film Valkyrie. In 2016, Parker originated the role of Harry Potter inHarry Potter and the Cursed Child alongside Noma Dumezweni at the Palace Theatre. For his performance, he won an Olivier for Best Actor in a Play, and then reprised the role on Broadway and was nominated for a Tony Award.

Parker will star in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button at Southwark Playhouse Elephant.
